first gathering of our entire leadership team (sojourn wide) to celebrate all that has happened over the first four weeks. lots of laughing, spontaneous applause, story telling, and marveling at the people God has brought our way so far this year. i am amazed at the energy, quality, and commitment of the students we have leading with us. what a great group!

super excited about our leadership team for next year. spent some time yesterday (sunday) reviewing this year and dreaming about the fall. we should have around 20 leaders invested in Sojourn to kick things off in September. that is amazing and a huge step forward from where we were at this time last year. proud of these students, and stoked to see where they take us!

i love leadership community.  this semester we are focusing on discipleship.  other topics covered: leadership starts with being a follower first...overcoming our fears...case study of peter...shirtless dancing guys. good stuff!  plus it's just great to get all of our leaders in the same room and catch up stories and the excitement of the new semester.

semester kick-off events are well underway around all around the city...we've had freshman splash at BU, club fairs at MIT, welcome week tables at UMASS, and lots of students showing up at Reunion. In the midst of all that, it was great to get most of our leaders together this weekend to have fun, dream about the semester, and talk about where God is leading Sojourn this year!

tonight was our last leadership community gathering of the year (school year).  spent some time dreaming and planning for next year (this fall).  most of all, feel really encouraged by what we have done this year and the ground work that has been laid for the future.  can't wait to get this group together at the end of the summer and see what we can do!

had another chance to get sojourn's student leaders together tonight.  awesome time discussing james 2 (faith and deeds), the tension of living an integrated faith, and imagining ways to do this on campus and among those we do life with on a day to day basis.  great time!

- received an email from someone who heard my talk at SVCC and immediately read donald miller's book (A Million Miles in a Thousand Years: What I Learned While Editing My Life).  i continue to be amazed and surprised at how relevant that talk was for people.  super encouraging!

i am really excited about our new leadership gathering. our hopes for this include strengthening our "dna" in our leaders, helping students see the bigger picture of what sojourn is doing in the city, and to create energy for participating in what God is doing on campuses and in relationships. tonight was the first of six or seven of these gatherings and i have high hopes for what these times will produce.

once a month we gather the leaders from both reunion and sojourn (note our new web address!) for a wild time of vision casting and celebration. it truly is a little silly at times (for example, for the past five months i have been recognized as new staff with sojourn...good tradition, let's keep it up).

generally the first half is spent all together celebrating "wins" and talking about something big that is on the horizon (i.e. advent conspiracy). then we break out in to smaller groups for "skill" time. her are some of our guys during working on our skillz. best part of this picture is that it is completely posed =)
